The following gives a break down of some common problems and solutions:

Why does the temperature in my office vary so much from its setting?

Possible Cause

What to do

Your unit may have been incorrectly sized for the building.

Contact your Installer/ Dealer.

Drafts from wrongly placed supply air diffusers or from the back of the controller could be affecting the temperature sensor built in to the wall plaque.

Contact your Installer/ Dealer.

Bad air circulation In the room can cause incorrect temperature readings.

Why does my 10 kW unit not seem to deliver the heating when I need it most?

What to do

Heating capacity at Design conditions may be incorrect. As the outside temperature falls heat losses through the walls, floor and ceiling increase.

Check your unit’s brochure for information on the minimum/ maximum operating temperatures.

Effect of De-Ice - Heat Pump units have de-icing cycles built in to dispose of the ice on the outdoor coil but this usually means reversing the cycle for a few minutes during which time there is no heating and in fact a little cooling occurs.

At lower outdoor temperatures units have a Gross and Nett heating duties shown, the difference between Gross and Nett being the allowance for de-ice cycles. Check your unit’s brochure for information on Gross and Nett Heating duties.

In a new building why does it take some days before the Air Conditioning Heat Pump unit seems to work properly?

What to do

Any new building, especially a commercial building, has a large amount of concrete and other structural materials that are generally cold and full of moisture. This is most evident in the winter when trying to heat the building from scratch.

Keep in contact with your Installer. Units need some nursing through this period and should not be left to their own devices.

Why is my unit spitting or leaking water?

What to do

Poor Drain Trapping (This is the most likely cause.)

Contact your Installer/ Dealer. We recommend that the drain trap/vent/slope be investigated first before moving on to other possible issues.

Water Carry-Over

Contact your Installer/ Dealer.

Water Ingress Through Fresh Air Dampers and Weatherhoods.When local weather is extreme It becomes an almost impossible task to design something that is 100% weatherproof for every situation. Temperzone will not guarantee 100% weatherproof weatherhoods.

Contact your Installer/ Dealer. It may be necessary to find a more suitable solution for the building’s location.

Water Ingress Through Panel Seals. Often this is as a result of the system negative static pressure exceeding the design capability of the unit structure.

Why does my air conditioner run excessively – the temperature remains too hot in summer and too cold in winter?

What to do

Windows or doors may be opened to non-conditioned area’s

Keep doors to unconditioned areas (eg laundries, bathrooms etc.) closed. Note that any doorways on the return air path will need to be kept open, which may mean for example that doors to an unconditioned hallway will need to be kept open.
